ABOUT MAPS
Supporting Minorities in Medicine Since 2000
The Minority Association of Prehealth Students (MAPS) is the undergraduate organization of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) for medical students and the National Medical Association (NMA) for physicians. There are over 240 chapters of MAPS nationwide. The Northeastern University Chapter of MAPS was established in 2000 as a part of Region VII of SNMA under the leadership of our parent chapter, Boston University School of Medicine SNMA.

Being a part of the NMA and SNMA organizations allows us to have many opportunities for mentoring as well as exciting meetings and events with local chapters in the Boston area. Past MAPS events have included suturing workshops, mental health workshops, career and specialty exploration meetings, minority medical student panels, minority physician panels, as well as a multitude of volunteering and shadowing opportunities.

The Northeastern University Chapter of the Minority Association of Prehealth Students exists to support current and future underrepresented medical students, address the needs of underserved communities, and increase the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.

MAPS is a free organization in which students from all backgrounds are encouraged to join!
